SHARON HEAL Hi, I'm Sharon Heal, the director of the Museums Association.

SIMON STEPHENS And I'm Simon Stephens, the head of publications at the MA.

SHARON HEAL We're here to tell you about our first podcast series, called the Radical Museums Podcast.

SIMON STEPHENS And we're really excited about the launch of the podcast.

SHARON HEAL We've been exploring what radical practice and activism means for museums for a number of years. We’re a values-led organisation and our current campaigns include decolonisation, anti-racism, climate justice and wellbeing. We know that museums can make a positive difference to people's lives. And throughout this podcast series, we'll be talking to museum activists, and those that are striving for and driving change.

SIMON STEPHENS We've interviewed some fantastic people for the podcasts. So, Sharon, tell us about the two museum activists you’ve met.

SHARON HEAL I've talked to Zandra Yeaman, who is the curator of discomfort at the Hunterian Museum in Glasgow, and Victoria Ryves, who's a learning and community development manager at Doncaster museums.

SIMON STEPHENS And I've been to St Fagans Museum of Natural History in Cardiff to see Nasir Adam, who is the black history creator at Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales. And I've also visited Ulster Museum in Belfast to meet the team behind Reimagine, Remake, Replay, a fantastic project that connects young people and heritage in Northern Ireland.

SHARON HEAL So as you've heard, we've got a great line-up of people for our podcast, and we're looking forward to sharing it with you. The podcast will be available on the MA’s website, which is www.museumsassociation.org. Thank you for listening. We really hope you enjoy our Radical Museums Podcast.
